Baked Ziti

I don’t really know that this is how you’re supposed to make baked ziti, but it’s pretty tasty and it makes a great pre-holiday meal because there are leftovers that you can eat (hooray for less stress!).

Anyway, here’s how I make mine…

1 box penne pasta (boiled according to package instructions)

jarred tomato spaghetti sauce (I use 1/2 a jar or so)

frozen meatballs (Trader Joes)

cheese (mozzarella and parmesan)

Boil pasta and strain. Pour in 9×13 pan. I usually put some sauce on the bottom of the pan. Pour more sauce on top and mix around. Put meatballs into sauce/pasta mix. Top with cheeses and bake at 350 covered with foil until piping hot. It’s pretty forgiving but 30 minutes or so at least. Then uncover to brown the cheese topping a bit.

Store leftovers in fridge. This dish is even better the next day!
