Is this whole wheat?

I have heard this question more out of my 3 and 5-year-old than I thought I would. Even more surprising is my kids like broccoli so much that they will eat theirs and then ask if you are planning to eat the broccoli on your plate 🙂 My youngest likes hers with a bit of salt and the oldest likes Mrs. Dash on his. No butter or cheez whiz! I grew up eating broccoli in butter sauce and DH rarely ate broccoli, but when he did, it was smothered in cheese sauce. (yuck!)

Anyway, it’s the New Year and lots of people are resolving to lose weight, get fit, eat better, etc. and I’m guessing the Y will be packed for a good 2 weeks. I figure that’s how long, sadly, until most people will give up on their resolution. I have been at it since before Thanksgiving and I’ve had a couple of comments on why I started *before* the holidays. I guess I was supposed to stuff myself and gain weight before making a change to my food intake? So odd, that logic.

I’ve lost nearly 20 pounds since last summer and 12-13 pounds of that since November. I’ve got a long way to go and I’ve joined a Weight Watchers challenge to lose 20 pounds by March 17 🙂 That’s about a pound a week and surely that’s doable.
